I had cotton left from the Nothin' But A T shirt and so I whipped up this little puppy..for my little puppy. It was a 4 evening job and I must say we are both pretty pleased with ourselves ( the knitter and the recipient) It was a fly by the seat of my pants design, as usual, and was very rewarding - I used up leftovers and it was finished fast, which is easy when the size is 'small and skinny.' please excuse all technical terms....
...which brings me to the somewhat painful conclusion that I am a Project Knitter. Now I do looovvve the process, absolutely, but honey, I want it done! I feel like , with all that is zen and right... the process should be enough...but no, that would leave a bunch of project bags stashed in unreasonable places ( and the yarn is already there, after all) and every ounce of my being fights that kind of hoarding, that unfinished business...so with the exception of that little intarsia
nightmaredelight that just needs a sleeve and collar, which we won't speak of again.... I am completely in control of my knitting destiny. I Am A Project Knitter and I will Get. It. Done.
And looky here.
Stitch markers from the Bead IT exchange from Stacey! Aren't they great? Thank you Stacey!
The Littlest and I are off to buy more flipflops..she thinks her 5th grade teacher would love a pair of Fuzzy ones and you know, she's right. This teacher, who, in spite of living on the cold banks of Lake Ontario not California, wears flipflops and a pretty good tan, most of the year (even in winter, just switching to boots to go outdoors )..she also loves creative projects and even gives her class the option, at free time, of "beading or reading". Gotta love it.
So on that happy note, have a great first long weekend of the season....and to all you Torontonians who have cottages, "We're friends, right?"
