Fact:
You can finish a summer sweater project much faster if you don't read 5 books at the same time.
I am a fickle, fickle creature. I had already started another warm weather project which I dropped like a hot potato when my elann order came in. I picked up the Baby Silk (baby alpaca and silk) and had to start knitting with it right away. It was so soft and fine and I am weak for soft and fine. The yarn was also a bit slippery and when it came time to do the sleeves on dpns, I dropped a lot of stitches. Thank goodness for the forgiving black yarn.
I have been checking Ravelry before I start a project these days to see what other's have experienced with the pattern in question. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage because while I do find issues to look out for, I also worry (usually needlessly) when other knitter's have serious fitting problems or unsatisfying outcomes. I read my share of both here but I encountered nothing but good knitting. It pattern was a doddle, it fits well and it's oh so soft. Have I mentioned about the soft?
The pattern is found here.
Did I say I was weak for soft and fine?
Hmm. The original Kitty Cafe is open for business in our new location.
They've found me.

That is an incredible sweater! I want it. Really badly. Great photo, too, Elizabeth. Are we up to L already????

The sweater looks great on you, good job. I like your black and white better than the original, but then I'm partial to B&W.
I have a step daughter who attracts stray dogs like Velcro. After adopting out 5(and keeping 4)in the last few years she and her husband are involved in getting an animal shelter built in their small town. It's a good thing since their son has started bringing home strays too.

There is a Kitty underground newspaper or I guess now it would be email or IM when I lived in the Southend of the city our house was at the top of the list for homeless waifs and strays; both human and nonhuman. Some stayed for a quick snack and a drink, others hung around longer, and one a purebred Siamese adopted me and stayed for 10 years.
Hmmm, I'd guess that is why I have not knit a stitch in months pile of books I been devouring this summer.
