It was a colourful and wet weekend. There was a lot of beautiful fall foliage to view, through about 4 different kinds of weather. There was rain, and sun and clouds and when we woke up Sunday morning in our friend's chalet on top of Blue Mountain there was snow. All that "weather' made the trails too wet for horseback riding but The Littlest got an indoor lesson in anyway. On the way there in Creemore, We found the Mad River Tea Shop, which was lined 4 walls floor to ceiling with tea pots! My kinda place.
And did I finish the Must Have Cardigan in time to wear, you ask? Well. No. I intended to put a zipper in instead of the buttonband , edged with an attached i-cord (I love i-cord) but when I got the cardie sewn together and tried it on I wasn't so sure. Even my ten year old gave the idea the thumbs down. So I decided to cast on all 264 stitches around for the buttonhole band. Problem. I didn't own a circular that size or length. No car. I walked to Zellers, the closest place to find needles - no joy. My dh finally got home just before 9 and I hurried to the yarn store for the circs. I got home cast on all 264 stitches and fell asleep. But I took it with me and by the end of the weekend, it was done. Without buttons. That took aanother day of foraging.
And that, my dears, is that. I twisted thums last night. I had threatened everyone in the chalet with thrum twisting duties if the weather refused to co-operate for outdoor activities - but they were a hardy bunch (or scared off) and nary a thrum was produced. Wanna see more gorgeous fall scenery?
Wow, that countryside photo looks like an award winning picture to me. Makes me want to drive out to the country and smell the fresh air...

Love your scenery photos; makes me homesick for the east.

Beautiful! How long did it take you? I want to make this too but fear it will take me years.

Wow! First, I love your sweater -- that one's on my short list (pattern is in-hand). The color is great and it looks so comfy. Second, the teapots are so cool -- I could spend hours in that shop. Third, the scenic pictures are gorgeous, but that first one is truly awesome -- the colors, light and mood are... I'm speechless!

Wow - looks so wonderful. Are you going to wear it tomorrow to the Naked Sheep? At least bring it?

Oooh -- the cardigan is gorgeous. Every time I see that pattern made up I wonder why I haven't made one yet... it's so lovely! Well done!
