Sometimes this is the best reason to have a ten year old daughter: so you can make playful objects like fuzzy flip flops..things that tickle your fancy but may look a little silly on your ahem..mature self. ( Or maybe to just try them out first on a willing victim)
And a new knitting roll was on my list of things to do for awhile now. With the dawning of the snb and all this Knitting In Public, knitting is no longer always a solitary sport...and my first knitting roll..the one I made in the seventies with the goofy leftover quilted fabric would quite frankly be an embarrassment in public. Now this one is also from leftover fabric; you may notice the colour co-ordination to the flip flops. Well , we are fond of greens and blues here at the Kittycafe and these scraps of fabric are from The Littlest's bedroom makeover.( I have a picture of that somewhere, too) She picked the colour of the flipflops and the fun fur is left over from her System Snugglers. from the pattern here
So all in all, a crafty weekend of using up leftovers .
is there anything more satisfying than using up leftovers? I get a feeling of smug self satisfaction everytime.

Don't you just love those flips! I have a pair of yellow and a pair of blue flips waiting to be transformed and I am going to wear them! Life is too short to not have fun, y'know! Besides, I figure if I make someone laugh, that will make their day. Who am I to keep someone from enjoying themselves (tee hee)!
thanks for the congrats on winning the contest from btchwstix. I was very pleasantly surprised to have one. I think I have to make the mohair into a little airy, lacy scarf . . . . . . . . .
