It couldn't have been straightforward, could it? Bird in house, open window, bird flies out, everyone lives happily ever after. But no, not here at the KittyCafe. After the first attempt yesterday of shutting the bedroom door and opening the window with no success, I let sleeping birds lie. For a bit. Then I tried again, since when I peeked in, the bird was perched on the runner of a stool by the window, and it looked like it was on it's way. It looked so pretty sitting there, with it's snowy white breast and black and white feathers...there was a bright red mark near the neck that I don't think..um.. nature intended, but it was symmetrical...never the less, I thought better of taking a picture at this point..(your welcome).... I shut the door again. Now at some point the bird had a visitor. Not sure when, but he/she left it's 'mark' by spraying in my bedroom. Eww..cat pee. Eventually the bird gets to the front door, let me spare you the gory details- and then to the front porch and when I got back from pottery last night - it was gone. In the lap of the gods, I guess. However, the eau de cat piss, lingered. Strongly. First thing in the morning, I ran to the pet store for some Enviro Fresh Get The Odor Out and thoroughly scrubbed the bedroom. Luckily we have no carpetting. I think I located ground zero just under the bed and blasted the spot.
There were a few new visitors to the backyard KittyCafe that day, but no one's telling.
I don't think I should leave you with the wounded bird/cat pee image in your head, so I guess I'll show the Bead It stitch markers that I mailed to my..uh..Beadee(?) yesterday. I hope she likes them.
I love the stitch markers that you made!! So cute! So, I mailed your markers out on Monday. It made me a little nervous sending them to canada in this little padded envelope that cost less than a dollar to mail. I'm hoping that it gets there soon!

Your stitch markers are soooo cute!!!! I can relate with your cat issues...actually my dog "marks" his spot in my apartment too often for comfort.

I commend you for being able to actually get THAT smell out. I guess its that time of year for kitties. My cat proudly caught two mice on Mother's Day (I didn't know he was a mouser). My hubby was very proud and my daughters were horrified. I guess that's what our pets decide to give us as Mother's Day presents...
