I'm starting with a dislaimer:
Yes, all the pics are blurry.
Camera still broken.
Bear with me here.
I went to the optometrist's this week for a check up. The eye doctor and I were discussing if I used my glasses while television viewing. I said I just balanced my reading glasses on the tip of my nose so I could knit while watching tv.
" Have you got your Olympic knitting ready?" she asked.
I paused for a moment, thinking in a panicky sort of way, "Does she read my blog?" But no, she was just assuming I'd have a project to knit while watching. I think...
She also mentioned that she hardly knit anymore because she got obsessed with it and did nothing else until she was finished. I sighed, commiserating with that little problem. Not that it ever happens to me (cough)
I barbecued all January without trekking through any snow at all to do so. What's with that?
A group of Tibetan monks came to The Littlest's school and performed music, vocals and dancing. They made quite an impression on her. After school there was a sale table with amazing garments, books and jewellery. Littlest bought herself this top and a handmade book ( Mom, look, there's flowers pressed into the paper!). She was very keen on the toggles closing this top. It's too bad the sale was not well advertised because there is nothing the parents at this school like doing more than spending money.
Speaking of spending money,
I stopped by the thrift store and scored this: A Dale of Norway 'Nagano' sweater for the dh for $5. Woo woo.
Out of the mouths of babes:
I started another pair of socks at the snb for She Who Fusses Over All Seams. When I came home, I showed her my progress. "That's it? What do you do at these things?" she asks. This would be the same girl who has not finished her Christmas knitting.
Being taller than average has distinct disadvantages sometimes. I have been unable to find camisoles that are long enough. I can't stand it when they are shorter than the sweater/shirt over top. I gave up and decided to make my own. File this under " I never thought I'd be sewing lingerie". I don't know if you can see the 'e' embroidered white-on-white. I've tucked the cami under my other thrift store find.
So this is what I've been doing this week.
Obviously not knitting that sock.
I've stolen your Team Tea button -- it's great! That's definitely my performance-enhancing substance of choice, as you know! Thanks!

I did shriek when I saw that new "About" photo!
Thanks for the Team Tea button. Milk, please, and just a hint of sugar.

Hey, a samfoo top! At least, that's what they call it in Singapore. Nice. If I found that Dale at my local thrift store, I might just give up knitting. Lucky you.
