On the highway up to what we Ontarians call "cottage country" there is an abandoned gas station. In the middle of the overgrown weediness sits this red car, eternally waiting for a fill up. Every colour was so muted at this scene, from the peeling white paint of the store and it's greying wood underneath, that I had decided to use no colour at all and orginally drew this in graphite only.
When I went back to it some years later, I was curious to see a little colour, so I brought back the red of the car. I still intend to play with this one.
The Lad is in the middle of exams but I managed to get him out of math study mode (ha!) to do a little red pencil doodle himself. I always love the simple simplicity of drawings of fruit.
Linear equations shall resume at once.
What a beautiful illustration! How long did it take before you finished this amazing drawing? And that red car, wow! It looks like my old Cadillac way back...
