Considering the problems with Typepad and my internet connection, which has been more off than on (no small thing!) I have been sadly absent from this space of late.
But small things surround me and I will try to keep the post small so I have a hope of hitting publish before I lose the connection:
outside, the only flowering things so far: coltsfoot
which looks suspiciously like dandelion flowers but is apparently, good for coughs
Wild leeks or ramps, too small to pick yet but soon...
And beside the ramps grow trout lily. The leaves are delicious in salads. They taste like fresh peas.
Inside: small things to become bigger things:
seeds to become plants outside next month.
very small stitches, on 2.25mm needles which will make up a whole spring cardigan - soon!
scraps of leftover saved material to become a quilt
And small bits of precious metal clay, which is really silver, for the tiniest of earrings.
For more small things:
our Corner View host who is also having internet issues is here.
It's good to be back in this space again.
Not so small...

I did not know that the leaves of trout lily (or what my mother always calls dogtooth violets) (what a weird name) were edible!

So much going on... I hope spring is with you to stay, and internet too. (Crazy, isn't it, how we are now so intertwined with that online thingy?)

so many projects going on! right now my spring cardigan with 3mm needles is hibernating, while i'm making another cardigan with 4mm needles and, ha!, this is going so fast - it definitely has a chance of becoming a spring cardigan for ... spring, 2014!
i'll post this comment before i lose my connection :)

I see you are a gardener! The lavender you asked about is from a farmer's market in California, although I also grow it in my garden.

Welcome back! You post makes me want to go home, play in the garden until dark and then craft! (Sadly, I have another 4+ hours to work.)

That could be exactly my surround...maybe without quilting, that I haven´t tried yet.
Spring is full of small details that made it great
